When the sun’s out, the fun’s out! Now is the time to gather your family and friends for fun outdoor activities.

Make the most of the warm weather in Manitoba with this summer bucket list!

1. Go berry-picking

You’re in for a sweet treat at Cormier’s Berry Patch! Check the website for strawberry-picking tips and delicious recipes to make with your berries.

Pick your own raspberries and strawberries at Boonstra Farms. Remember to visit the petting zoo as well!

2. Enjoy the festivals

The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba is believed to be the second-oldest continuous ethnic festival in North America. Enjoy family activities, live music, and food in Gimli from August 4-7, 2023.

The Corn and Apple Festival in Morden is the largest street festival in Manitoba. Enjoy 3 days of food, fun, and entertainment for the entire family from August 25-27, 2023.

3. Get active!

Hike to Kwasitchewan Falls, Manitoba’s highest waterfall, at Pisew Falls Provincial Park.

Enjoy the changing colours of Little Limestone Lake in northern Manitoba. Spend the day canoeing, kayaking, or fishing.

4. Treat yo’ self 

Go to the foot of the historic Elm Park Bridge to indulge in creamy soft serve, sundaes, sodas, or shakes, including vegan options, at the beloved BDI.

Opt for Canadian-roasted coffee and made-from-scratch ice cream at the new Fete Ice Cream.

Head to Skinners for great food, retro vibes, and classic jukebox hits at the oldest hotdog venue in Canada.

Enjoy the retro dining atmosphere, great food, and good times at one of the location shoots for the movie “A Dog’s Purpose” at Half Moon.

5. Participate in local events

Sign up your family and friends for Mud Hero on July 22, 2023. A portion of the proceeds benefit Epilepsy Canada, a charity dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy.

Get your family and friends together for the  Bubble Run on August 19, 2023. A portion of the proceeds goes toward research, funding, and treatment for families battling childhood cancer and terminal illness.

6. Visit Assiniboine Park

Bring the family to the zoo, the park, and the Leaf at Assiniboine Park. Enjoy free music, movies, fun, and wellness during the Summer Entertainment Series!

7. Go geocaching  

Go on a modern-day treasure hunt with the Manitoba Geocaching Association. You need only a GPS receiver and a nearby geocache location from geocaching.com.

8. Enjoy a production at the Rainbow Stage

Get tickets to Rent or The Little Mermaid at the Rainbow Stage in Kildonan Park.

9. Attend a sports game 

Catch a Goldeyes baseball game at Shaw Park.

Take in a Winnipeg Blue Bombers football game at IG Field.

10. Engage in a waterway tour

Enjoy a scenic view of Winnipeg’s skyline during the Splash Dash River Tour. Listen as the boat captain provides commentary and historical insights into points of interest during the tour.
