You Have One Minute

With so many resume submissions, the task of reviewing them becomes tiresome.  Hiring managers can only spend a few seconds on each one.  Your resume needs to stand out so that an employer will spend more than a minute on it.  How can you do that?

  • Describe your skills upfront.
  • Italicize key words.
  • Avoid employment gaps.
  • Explain a short stay.
  • Describe key accomplishments for each position.
  • Avoid copy and paste for similar positions.

The question that you need to ask is “does my resume sell me?”
