June saw an unchanged recruitment market within the Fraser Valley. Companies are divided 50:50 in terms of those seeing signs of improvement in the economy and those still facing ongoing challenges. Those seeing improvement have restarted the recruitment campaigns put on hold earlier in the year, though tend to be reluctant to make quick decisions and are sometimes paralysed by over-analysis. A natural consequence of the delicate economic environment.


Good candidates equally are being very tentative in their job searches. The vast majority of good candidates are in full-time employment and, right now, very much appreciate that. As a result they tend to be cautious about making a move to a new employer whose business and prospects they do not fully know. Having a good recruiter then to provide good factual information and reassurance is crucial.
